Resources to help you plan your visit to Oakwell
- Download a handy printable map.
- Download a site map and don’t forget to check out the Kirklees site for any planned events which can sometimes affect traffic and the Hall’s opening hours.
- Download a nature trail leaflet with a guide to the different walks, and highlights to watch out for along the way. The Nature Trail follows a figure-of-eight route and is just under two miles long. It is possible to walk either loop on its own in about 45 minutes or to do the complete circuit in roughly an hour and a half. The West loop goes around an attractive area which, believe it or not, used to be a colliery. It can be uneven and is sometimes muddy. The East loop paths are mostly surfaced and it takes you through a more wooded landscape. Stout footwear is advisable in either case. Whichever route you choose, please follow the Countryside Code at all times. Keep dogs on a lead and use the dog waste bins provided.
- Find directions to the Hall on Google.
Check the weather before you come.
